Call for Producers:

Northern Lines is a theatre company that has spent the last four years working in and around some of the most deprived parts of Bradford and the North of England. We follow a “community based, professionally made” model, and make work that reflects the diverse communities in which we’re based. Over the past four years we have made shows about Miners in South Yorkshire, The Arab Spring in Bahrain, Iranian political dissidents and working class insurrections in Bradford. We have toured work to Manchester, the North East and London and have made work for non theatre spaces as much as for theatre spaces.

The next two years are a pivotal point for our company, with an ambitious series of projects especially around one of our two strands of work: Mid scale shows produced in Bradford with strong artist development, digital and participation strands, particularly for people from communities underrepresented in traditional theatre buildings and organisations. We are interested in meeting producers who are hungry to shift and grow with our company, to challenge and be challenged.

This post will begin as a freelance role, and we envisage growing the role to a part time one, over twelve months.
Interested people should apply by email, before 5:00pm 31st December 2016 to Writing “Producer Call out” in the subject bar, please attach a CV and an Expression of Interest (max 500 words) laying out what you see as the challenges and opportunities for a company that seeks to make provocatively political, diverse and technologically savvy theatre in Bradford and the north, and what particular expertise and networks you would bring to the role.

We will be conducting interviews in w/c 16th January.
